Consider Family Dentistry To Keep Your Family’s Teeth Healthy

Considering family dentistry? Family dentistry has been around for a really long time and is a tradition that we strongly encourage with our families. We have discovered that when there is a family dentist involved, someone who offers services to the whole family, the family itself tends to take on a greater sense of accountability for their oral health and hygiene. In addition, it tends to be easier to schedule times to come in for the regular examinations and cleanings, ensuring that the family keeps a much healthier set of teeth. There are benefits to family dentistry for the dentist as well. One of the most important aspects of being a family dentist is the fact that we get to build a relationship with the family members over time. This gives the family comfort in the service provider and a sense of trust that is very good for overcoming things like dental anxiety.

The best way to look at things, sometimes, is through the eyes of a child who often provides a snapshot into our own anxieties. When visiting an unfamiliar dentist, the child is going to have their fears magnified. This is due to the fact that they are in a place they do not know, surrounded by people dressed in strange clothes, around equipment that makes strange noises, and then there is the chair. All of these feed into our natural anxieties and make it so that we are more afraid than we need to be. However, when a child comes in to see the family dentist, it is someone they are already familiar with having been in before with a relative. The office is more familiar, which leads to a sense of trust and enhances their ability to relax. In similar fashion, most family members are able to let go of some of their anxiety issues when dealing with a trusted family service provider.

Once you come through the doors of your family dentist clinic, you know that we are going to do everything possible to meet your needs and make you comfortable. Two things that we do have made the entire experience of family dentistry even more convenient. First, we have brought all family services in-house. This means that no matter which family member we are treating, or for what general dentist purpose, we can do it all in our own clinic. From x-rays to cleanings, from extractions to fillings, no matter what your family's needs are, we can meet them in your own family dentist clinic. The exception, naturally, is extremely specialized services. In addition to this, we have focused a lot of attention on the scheduling element of a family's visit. We know that families are extremely busy these days and so do not want to be coming to the dentist office repeatedly for different family members. To help with this, we can coordinate your scheduled visits with each other, incorporating variables like school and work, to ensure that we maximize the time your family spends with us in order to get all your dental and oral health needs met.
