Cosmetic Dentistry Can Transform Your Smile So It’s Important to Know What You Want
There are so many
cosmetic dentistry options for transforming your smile that it is important to understand what you want to accomplish. We can complete a smile makeover and turn the smile you have into something that is worthy of the red carpet. Still, most people don’t dislike their entire smile, only portions of it. The more information you can provide, the more detailed of a recommendation we can make for how to achieve it. This way you don’t get any unnecessary procedures.
Here are some things to consider before your consultation.
What is the main thing you don’t like about your smile? Make a list of your top items, things that must be corrected for you to feel happy with your teeth. Next, make a list of second tier items that you would like to have fixed but aren’t a must have. It may be possible for us to fix both at the same time.
How white do you want your teeth? Most
cosmetic dentistry work accounts for whitening teeth or creating a ceramic piece in a particular shade. We need to know how white you want your teeth to get in order to do so. You can look at examples in our office if it would help you to describe the level of white you are comfortable with.
Do you like how much of your gums show when you smile? Some people suffer from a gummy appearance due to their gums covering too much of their teeth. Others, struggle with a receding gum line.
Are you comfortable with the size of your teeth? If you think that your teeth are either too large or too small, you are not alone. This is a common problem that we can correct in our office.
Does anything need to be replaced? If you had gotten fillings or crowns in the past, they might need to be replaced. They are not designed to last forever and will start to wear down over time. Additionally, the appearance of restorative solutions has improved so your tooth may look much better by replacing an old crown. Let us know if you are interested in replacing anything so that we can include it in your overall treatment plan.
What is your schedule like? We need to know if you have an unlimited amount of time for dental work or if you are on a tight schedule due to work and kids. This will influence which procedures we recommend. For example, people that are too busy to come to the office may want to use at home whitening trays instead of an in-office procedure since it can be done after client meetings and tucking the kids into bed. Simultaneously, if you want to have your smile perfected by a certain date, we need to know that too.
In our
cosmetic dentistry office, we can use a variety of procedures to accomplish the goals that you have for your smile. There are many ways to do so while keeping you entirely comfortable. To learn more, schedule your consultation.
